About

Our mission

Welcome to Kutub, a platform dedicated to disseminating and translating the treasures of Islamic literature. Our mission is to make classical and contemporary works of Islamic thought accessible to a global audience, particularly non-Arabic speakers, using AI and user participation. We firmly believe that this project will revolutionize the pursuit of knowledge as a support tool.

Our mission is not limited to establishing this platform; we also aim to free ourselves from generative AI models that do not align with the Islamic values we uphold. To achieve this, we need, through these translations and community corrections, to obtain a set of high-quality Islamic data to finetune Open Source models. Thus, we will be able to provide the Muslim world with an 'Islamic' AI model that would not deliver non-Islamic knowledge and whose applications could be multiple.

Who are we?

Kutub is an initiative launched by an individual passionate about Islamic literature and AI engineering. Our team is united by a common goal: to expand access to Islamic heritage. We work tirelessly to provide accurate translations and reliable resources, so that each user can benefit from authentic and enriching content.

What we wo

  1. Open Source books: We provide books in their original language for free.
  2. Translations: We translate important works of Islamic literature into several languages, using AI to ensure precision and speed.
  3. Correction: We give users the opportunity to correct AI translation errors by submitting a correction that will be validated or rejected by the Kutub team.
  4. Plenty of features pending: Visit our Roadmap page to see future features.

Why Kutub?

We live in an era where access to information is crucial. However, a large part of Islamic literature remains inaccessible to those who do not master Arabic. Kutub aims to bridge this gap by providing high-quality translations and facilitating access to a vast library of Islamic resources. We believe that knowledge should be shared and that everyone should have the opportunity to discover and learn. Additionally, this would reduce the risk of truncation or false interpretations made by Arabic-speaking intermediaries to non-Arabic speakers, with each individual being able to verify the works in their own language.
