1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing Kutub, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
2. Service description
Kutub is an open-source platform dedicated to the dissemination and translation of works of Islamic literature, making classic and contemporary texts of Islamic thought accessible to a global audience, especially non-Arabic speakers. Our platform uses artificial intelligence for initial translations, which are then improved through user collaborative contributions.
3. Registration and user account
- 3.1 To use certain features of Kutub, you must create an account.
- 3.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password.
- 3.3 You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. User content
- 4.1 Nature of Content: Only books, texts, and translations relevant to Sunni Islamic literature and adhering to the guidance of the righteous predecessors are allowed on our platform.
- 4.2 Open Source: All content on Kutub, including translations and corrections made by users, is considered open source and freely accessible to the public.
- 4.3 Rights to Content:
- a) Public Content: By publicly contributing to Kutub, whether by adding content, correcting translations, or any other form of participation visible to all users, you agree to place your contributions under an open-source license. You waive any exclusive intellectual property rights to these public contributions, which become part of the Kutub open-source project.
- b) Private Content: Any content you create or modify in private mode (not publicly visible on the platform) remains your property. You retain all rights to this private content until you decide to make it public on Kutub. Once made public, the content will be subject to the conditions in point (a) above.
- c) Transition from Private to Public: If you choose to make previously private content public, you agree that it will then be subject to the public content conditions described in point (a).
- 4.4 You are solely responsible for the content you publish or modify, whether public or private.
5. User conduct
You agree not to:
- 5.1 Publish illegal, offensive, or non-Islamic content on the platform.
- 5.2 Impersonate any other person.
- 5.3 Collect personal information from other users.
- 5.4 Use the platform for unauthorized commercial activities.
6. Moderation and penalties
- 6.1 Kutub reserves the right to moderate all content posted on the platform.
- 6.2 Non-compliant content may be removed without notice.
- 6.3 In case of repeated non-compliance, Kutub may suspend or delete your account.

7. Intellectual property and use of content
- 7.1 All content available on Kutub is considered open source and may be freely used, modified, and shared in accordance with the platform's spirit.
- 7.2 Users are encouraged to use, share, and contribute to Kutub's content while respecting the integrity of original works and citing Kutub as the source when appropriate.
- 7.3 Although the content is free to use, we ask that you respect the spirit of sharing and collaboration within the Kutub community.
8. AI translations and user contributions
- 8.1 Initial translations are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors.
- 8.2 Users are encouraged to contribute to improving the translations.
- 8.3 All corrections and improvements made by users become part of Kutub's open-source content and may be freely used and modified by others.
9. Limitation of liability
- 9.1 Kutub provides the platform "as is" without any warranties.
- 9.2 We are not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from your use of the platform.
10. Changes to the terms of use
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will take effect upon their publication on the platform.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in London.
