Conclusion:
When I finally resolved to write this preface, our brothers at “Dār al-Ḥasan Center for Computer Typesetting” had already delivered the book to us in camera-ready form. They were simply waiting for us to hand them the preface so they could set it as well and attach it to the work. Yet, because of the necessity explained at the beginning of the preface, I discovered that the book had already been sent to press. Consequently, I felt compelled to append to the typeset, camera-ready copy a number of fresh benefits that had ripened only later—points I uncovered while preparing the “Refutation.” My conscience would not permit me to withhold them from the readers.
I do this knowing full well that inserting new material after a book has been set is something typesetters naturally dislike. For that reason I offer my apologies to the honorable brothers in charge of the center twice over: first, for this very addition—especially since they have patiently borne a similar situation from us before, may Allah reward them well—and second, for the delay, the like of which neither we nor they are accustomed to. Such was Allah’s will and decree, and so we ask their pardon; an excuse extended to generous people is accepted.
Our last supplication is: “All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
