Lessons derived from the hadith:
- A believer must fear shirk, for deliverance from the Fire hinges on remaining free of it.
- What counts is not the sheer quantity of deeds but their freedom from shirk.
- The hadith clarifies the meaning of lā ilāha illā Allah: abandoning shirk and dedicating all worship to Allah alone.
- Paradise and Hell are both close to a person; only death separates him from either.
- Great merit belongs to anyone who is safeguarded from shirk.
