—and the very man who smashed the idols with his own hands feared it for himself; so how could anyone beneath him feel safe from it?
1- The lawfulness of beseeching Allah to avert calamity, and the fact that no human being can do without his Lord.
2- The permissibility of a person’s praying for himself and for his descendants.
3- A rebuttal of the ignorant who claim that shirk will never occur in this community, whereupon they felt secure from it and consequently fell into it.
