Overall meaning of the athar: When ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar—may Allah be pleased with him—was informed that some people were denying the divine decree, he explained that by adopting this corrupt belief they had left the religion, for they had rejected one of its fundamentals. He supported this judgment with the Prophet’s ﷺ statement that belief in the decree is one of the six pillars of faith that must all be affirmed; whoever denies any one of them is a disbeliever in them all.
Relevance of the athar to the chapter: It clarifies the ruling on those who deny the decree.
Benefits derived from the athar:
- Denying the decree is disbelief.
- Righteous deeds are accepted only from a believer.
- Legal rulings must be established from the Quran and the Sunnah.
المعنى الإجمالي للأثر: أن عبد الله بن عمر –﵄ لما بلغه أن قوماً ينكرون القدر، بين أنهم بهذا الاعتقاد الفاسد قد خرجوا من الدين؛ حيث أنكروا أصلاً من أصوله، واستدل على ذلك بحديث الرسول –ﷺ الذي ورد فيه أن الإيمان بالقدر أَحد أركان الإيمان الستة التي يجب الإيمان بها جميعاً؛ فمن جحد بعضَها فهو كافرٌ بالجميع.
مناسبة الأثر للباب: بيان حكم منكري القدر.
ما يستفاد من الأثر:
١- أن إنكار القدر كفرٌ.
٢- أن الأعمال الصالحة لا تُقبل إلا من المؤمن.
٣- الاستدلال على الأحكام من الكتاب والسنة.
