Al-Bukhari and Muslim also relate from Anas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Three qualities—whoever possesses them will taste the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than anything else; that he loves a person and loves him only for Allah; and that he detests returning to disbelief after Allah has saved him from it just as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire.”
Another wording states: “No one finds the sweetness of faith until …” (1) and so forth.

Explanation of terms
-
“For both of them from him” means that al-Bukhari and Muslim both transmit this report from Anas.
-
“Three qualities, whoever has them” refers to three traits found in a person. Beginning the sentence with the indefinite “three” is permissible because it is understood as part of an implied construct phrase.
-
“Will taste through them the sweetness of faith”--because of the delight, bliss, and joy that fill the heart.
-
“Dearer to him” is in the accusative as the predicate of the verb yakūna.
-
“Than anything else”--that is, than what a person naturally loves such as children, spouses, and the like.
-
“That he loves a person”--someone whose faith and worship he deems sound.
-
“He only loves him for Allah”--meaning, for the sake of obeying Allah.
-
