On the authority of Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Keep away from the seven sins that bring destruction.” They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what are they?” He replied, “Associating partners with Allah, sorcery, taking a life that Allah has made sacred—except with due right, consuming ribā (usury), devouring an orphan’s property, retreating on the day of battle, and accusing chaste, unsuspecting, believing women of adultery.” (1)
