Ibn Jarir transmitted through his chain from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Mujahid, concerning the words of the Almighty, “Have you considered al-Lat and al-‘Uzza?” (al-Najm 53:19). Mujahid said: “He used to knead sawiq for them; when he died, they began to gather constantly at his grave.”
Abu al-Jawza’ likewise reported from Ibn ‘Abbas: “He used to mix sawiq for the pilgrims.”
