Al-Mulakhkhas fi Sharh Kitab al-TawhidSalih Al-Fawzan

solely in the hand of Allah, for He alone grants success to whomsoever He wills, and He knows best who is worthy of it and who is not.

Relevance of the verse to the chapter: It offers unequivocal evidence that the Messenger ﷺ possesses no power to harm or benefit, to give or to withhold; every matter rests in Allah’s hand. Thus it refutes those who call upon him to alleviate hardships and satisfy needs.

Lessons derived from the verse:
1- A rebuttal of those who believe that the saints can benefit or harm and continue to manage affairs after death as a mark of honor.
2- The guidance of enabling grace lies exclusively with Allah, Glorified be He.
3- Affirmation of Allah’s knowledge.
4- Affirmation of Allah’s wisdom.
5- The invalidity of relying on anyone other than Allah.
