Al-Mulakhkhas fi Sharh Kitab al-TawhidSalih Al-Fawzan

above all things, beyond whom there is none greater or mightier.

Lessons derived from the verse:

  1. It refutes every faction of the idolaters, for they worship beside Allah beings who do not even come close to the angels, nor equal them in any of their qualities.
  2. It establishes that Allah speaks, in a manner befitting His majesty.
  3. It proves that Allah’s speech is uncreated, for the angels ask, “What has your Lord said?”—not, “What has your Lord created?”
  4. It affirms that Allah is exalted above all His creatures.
  5. It confirms the supreme greatness of Allah.
