only mentioned in order to repudiate it.
Lessons gleaned from the verse:
1- Seeking refuge in anyone besides Allah is shirk, for the believing jinn declared, “We shall never associate anyone with our Lord” (Qur’an 72:2), and then, in censure, said, “There were men from mankind who used to seek refuge with men from the jinn” (Qur’an 72:6).
2- The mission of Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) is universal, addressing both humankind and jinn.
3- Taking refuge in other than Allah breeds fear and weakness.
4- By contrast, the verse indicates that seeking refuge in Allah engenders strength and safety.
