And in another hadith: “That is the sitting posture of those who have incurred Allah’s wrath.” (1)
It was also reported by Abu Dawud (1/157) and al-Bayhaqi (2/136) through other chains from Hisham, as a mawquf narration with similar wording.
It has a corroborating report, namely the following:
(1) It is narrated by Amr ibn al-Sharid, from his father. Abd al-Razzaq said: from Ibn Jurayj who stated: Ibrahim ibn Maysarah informed me that he heard Amr ibn al-Sharid [from his father] (*) relate from the Prophet ﷺ that he used to say, concerning how a person should place his left foot when sitting in the prayer: … and he mentioned the remainder of the wording.
Abd al-Haqq cites it in his Ahkam (no. 1284, in my edition) and leaves it without comment, which according to his method signifies that he considered it authentic. Its chain meets the criteria of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).
Abu Dawud (no. 4848) and Ahmad (4/388) also transmit it via Isa ibn Yunus, from Ibn Jurayj, with the same chain but without reference to the prayer.
