This isnad is good. I subsequently found that al-Hakim recorded the same route in al-Mustadrak (4/284–285) and declared, “Its chain is sound,” a judgement with which al-Dhahabi concurred. (2) This report is established from a number of Companions: 1. Maymunah, the Prophet’s wife, said: “The Prophet used to pray on a khumrah (small woven mat).” It is related by Bukhari (1/341, 390); Muslim (2/128); Abu Dawud (1/106); al-Nasai (1/120); al-Darimi (1/319); Ibn Majah (1/320); al-Tayalisi (p. 226); and Ahmad (6/330, 331, 335, 336) through the chain Sulayman al-Shaybani → Abd Allah b. Shaddad → her. Al-Bayhaqi transmits it likewise (2/421), and Ahmad (6/331, 334) provides an additional route in the Musnad. Al-Nasai (1/68) also reports it in similar wording. 2. Ibn Abbas. It is recorded by al-Tirmidhi (2/151), al-Bayhaqi, al-Tayalisi (p. 348), and Ahmad (1/269, 309, 320, 358) through several chains from Simak → Ikrimah → him; al-Tirmidhi graded it “hasan sahih.” Al-Hakim (1/259), followed by al-Bayhaqi (2/437) and Ahmad (1/273), narrates it via Zam‘ah b. Salih → Salamah b. Wahram → Ikrimah with the wording “bisat” (carpet). Zam‘ah also transmitted it from Amr b. Dinar on the authority of Ibn Abbas.
