Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

He used to be so meticulous about this that some of his Companions (1) remarked:

Al-Darimi (1/306), Ibn Majah (1/287), al-Hakim (1/228), al-Bayhaqi (2/114), and Ahmad (6/331) all record the report through the route of Sufyan ibn Uyaynah, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abd Allah, from his uncle Yazid ibn al-Asamm, from her (i.e., Maymunah) with this wording. Others besides Sufyan transmit it from Ubayd Allah with a different wording, and that version was quoted under the previous hadith. (1) He is Ahmar ibn Jazi—with a fatha on the jim, a silent zay, and then a hamza. The narration is found in Abu Dawud (1/143), Ibn Majah (1/288), al-Tahawi (1/136), al-Bayhaqi (2/115), Ahmad (4/342; 5/30), al-Tabarani in al-Kabir, and al-Diya al-Maqdisi in al-Mukhtarah, all of them through Abbad ibn Rashid who said: “The Hasan narrated to us; Ahmar ibn Jazi narrated to us …” This chain is hasan. Al-Nawawi affirmed, “Its chain is sahih” (3/430), and repeated the judgement in al-Khilasa, as cited by al-Zaylaʿi (1/387). Ibn Daqiq al-Id also declared it authentic according to Bukhari’s criteria (al-Talkhis, 3/475). That verdict, however, is debatable, for Abbad ibn Rashid is a contentious narrator. Ahmad called him “a trustworthy, truthful, upright shaykh.” Abu Hatim said, “His hadith is acceptable,” and reproached al-Bukhari for listing him among the weak, saying, “He should be removed from that list.” By contrast, Abu Dawud labelled him “weak,” while al-Nasaʾi and Ibn al-Barqi said, “He is not strong,” and Ibn Hibban maintained, “He is not to be relied upon.” Al-Maqdisi responded, “Al-Bukhari included him in his Sahih, and he knows better than those who criticised him.”
