Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

(1) The hadith of Malik ibn al-Huwayrith: He stated that he saw the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands in prayer when he bowed (ruku), when he lifted his head from bowing, when he prostrated (sujud), and when he lifted his head from prostration, until his hands were level with the tops of his ears. It was recorded by al-Nasai (1/165), Abu Awana (2/94) – and through him by Ibn Hazm in al-Muhalla (4/92) – and by Ahmad in al-Musnad (3/436-437; 5/53) from Qatadah, from Nasr ibn Asim, from Malik. This chain is sahih according to Muslim’s criteria. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in Fath al-Bari (2/177): “It is the soundest report I have come across on raising the hands during prostration.” I add: al-Nasai headed it with two chapter titles: “Raising the Hands for Prostration” and “Raising the Hands when Rising from the First Prostration.” (2) From Wail ibn Hujr. Husayn ibn Abd al-Rahman said: We entered upon Ibrahim, and Amr ibn Murrah related: We prayed in the mosque of the Hadramis, and Alqamah ibn Wail told me from his father that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raise his hands when he began the prayer, when he bowed, and when he prostrated. This chain is sahih on Muslim’s criteria and was recorded by al-Darqutni (no. 109). It has a second route: Shuʿbah reported: Amr ibn Murrah told me that he heard Abu al-Bakhtari relate from Abd al-Rahman al-Yahsubi from Wail al-Hadrami that he prayed with the Prophet ﷺ; the Prophet would pronounce the takbir when descending and when rising, and would raise his hands with each takbir. This chain is hasan: all of its narrators are those of the Six Books except Abd al-Rahman al-Yahsubi; two reliable transmitters narrated from him and Ibn Hibban declared him trustworthy. It was recorded by al-Darimi (1/285), al-Tayalisi (no. 137), and Ahmad (4/316).
