Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

upon it (1), in a manner that our Lord loves and is pleased with].
A man who had been praying behind him—Allah bless him and grant him peace—uttered this supplication after the Prophet raised his head from the bow (rukuʿ) and proclaimed, “Allah hears those who praise Him.” When the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, concluded the prayer, he asked, “Who just spoke?” The man replied, “I did, O Messenger of Allah!” The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, then said:

Further corroborating narrations exist: one from Amir ibn Rabiʿah, reported by Abu Dawud with wording similar to the version of Rifaʿah ibn Yahya; its chain is weak, although al-ʿIraqi, in Takhrij al-Ihya (2/183), judged it “sound.” Another support comes from Ibn ʿAmr in al-Bazzar, and from Ibn ʿUmar in al-Tabarani’s al-Kabir with wording close to Malik’s report; both chains are weak. A narration of Waʾil ibn Hujr, which mentions neither bowing nor sneezing, appears in al-Nasaʾi and Ahmad (4/317). Its transmitters are trustworthy—on the level of those used by Muslim—yet the chain is interrupted. (1) Ibn Hajar comments: “The phrase may merely reinforce the expression mubarkan fihi (blessed in it), and this seems most likely. Others say the first clause conveys ‘increase’ while the second conveys ‘permanence.’ As for the words kama yuhibbu rabbuna wa yarda (as our Lord loves and approves), they display a supreme act of entrusting the matter to Allah.” This hadith thus establishes the permissibility of pronouncing this formula at this point in the prayer, and it is recommended to add to it any of the other expressions previously transmitted from the Prophet ﷺ whenever one wishes to prolong the standing position.
