Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

…

Likewise al-Tahawi records it from Shuʿbah, who said, “ʿUbayd ibn al-Hasan informed me of it.” Muslim also transmits it, as does Ahmad in one of his narrations. Al-Tayalisi (no. 110) relates: “Shuʿbah and Qays narrated to us from ʿUbayd ibn al-Hasan … .” Abu Dawud comments, “Qays, in his version, says: ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say this when he raised his head from bowing.’” Abu Dawud then adds, “Shuʿbah said: I heard Majzaʾah ibn Zahir say: I heard Ibn Abi Awfa mention this supplication and he added: ‘Allahumma! tahhirni … ,’ and so on.” This wording is likewise reported by Muslim and by al-Bukhari in al-Adab al-mufrad (99). Al-Bukhari there (98) also has Israel following the same route from Majzaʾah, and Ahmad (4/354) records it from Shuʿbah with an explicit attribution to the Prophet, yet it is still left unrestricted, without linking it to what is said after bowing. Al-Nasaʾi (1/70) transmits only this additional phrase; he is followed there by Raqabah from Majzaʾah, and al-Tirmidhi (2/271, Bulaq ed.) through another chain. There is also an independent chain in Ahmad (4/381): Layth → Mudrik → ʿAbd Allah ibn Abi Awfa, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would supplicate, saying, “Allahumma! tahhirni bi-l-thalj … ,” and he further added, “wabāʿid bayni wa-bayna dhunubi kamā bāʿadta bayna l-mashriq wa-l-maghrib; Allahumma! innī aʿūdhu bika min qalbin lā yakhshaʿ, wa-nafsin lā tashbaʿ, wa-duʿāʾin lā yusmaʿ, wa-ʿilmin lā yanfaʿ; Allahumma! innī aʿūdhu bika min hāʾulāʾi l-arbaʿ; Allahumma! innī asʾaluka ʿīshatan naqiyyah, wa-mītatan sawiyyah, wa-marradan ghayra mukhzin.”
