Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

and my nerves, and whatever my two feet support (1)—for Allah, Lord of all worlds.”

6- “O Allah! To You I have bowed, in You I believe, to You I submit, and upon You I rely. You are my Lord. My hearing and sight, my blood and flesh, my bones and nerves have all humbled themselves before You—for Allah, Lord of all worlds.”

7- “Glory be to the Possessor of might and dominion, majesty and greatness.” And he would say this

(1) In other words: “whatever it has borne”; here the word istiqlal (elevation) is used, so the phrase functions as a general statement after a specific one. (6) This is part of the hadith of Jabir cited above; its wording is: “Whenever he bowed he would say, ‘O Allah, to You I have bowed, in You I believe, to You I submit, and upon You I rely….’” Muhammad ibn Maslamah transmitted the same report from him ﷺ, except that he said: when the Prophet stood to perform a voluntary prayer and reached the bowing position, he recited it, and he placed the phrase “my flesh” before “my blood.” (7) The narration is also reported from Awf ibn Malik al-Ashjaʿi (may Allah be pleased with him); its full wording has already been quoted under “Recitation in the Night Prayer” (p. 509). I have found yet another chain for this hadith in Ibn Nasr (no. 76), related through Ibn Jurayj: Walid ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Abi Mugheeth told me that he heard Abu ʿAbd Allah ibn Nuḥayla*—a man who served with Walid ibn ʿAbd al-Malik and was held in esteem—say: A man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ prayed behind him—meaning the Prophet ﷺ—so he recited Surah al-Baqarah…; the remainder of the report follows the same pattern and includes the relevant wording. * In Musannaf ʿAbd al-Razzaq (no. 2897) the name appears as “Bujayla.”
