Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

…

(continuation) 1. Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman – reported through two chains: a. Ibn Lahiʿa → ʿUbayd Allah ibn Abi Jaʿfar → Abu al-Azhar → Hudhayfa: He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when bowing, say: “Subhana rabbi al-ʿazim” (Glory be to my Lord the Tremendous) three times; and when prostrating: “Subhana rabbi al-aʿla” (Glory be to my Lord the Most High) three times. Related by Ibn Majah (1/288–289). Ibn Lahiʿa is weak, and Abu al-Azhar’s reliability is unknown; no scholar has authenticated him. b. Muhammad ibn Abi Layla → al-Shaʿbi → Sila → Hudhayfa, with the wording: In his bowing he would say: “Subhana rabbi al-ʿazim wa-bihamdih” (Glory be to my Lord the Tremendous, and by His praise) three times; and in his prostration: “Subhana rabbi al-aʿla wa-bihamdih” three times. Narrated by al-Daraqutni (no. 130) and by Ibn Khuzayma (no. 604) [the latter omits “wa-bihamdih” and the closing phrase]. All the transmitters are trustworthy, except that Ibn Abi Layla is weak because of poor memory. He is supported by a follow-up from Mujalid ibn Saʿid, who is similarly weak; al-Tahawi recorded it (1/138) without the phrase “wa-bihamdih”. The basic report is found in Sahih Muslim and has already appeared on p. 503 and will be cited again below. 2. Jubayr ibn Mutʿim transmits the same wording as Hudhayfa’s first report, but without the addition “wa-bihamdih”. Reported by al-Daraqutni (no. 130) and by al-Tabarani in al-Kabir through Ismaʿil ibn ʿAyyash from
