Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

“When you bow in rukūʿ (bowing), place your palms on your knees, then spread your fingers, and remain still until every limb settles into its proper place.” (1)

and Hushaym transmitted it to us in full. Its isnad is hasan (fair), as al-Bayhaqi says, and the additional wording will appear in its proper place under al-Hakim’s recension and others. The report is also printed in Sahih Abi Dawud (no. 809). (1) This passage is part of the long hadith of “the man who prayed badly,” in the version of Rifaʿa b. Rafiʿ. It was recorded by Abu Dawud (1/137) and likewise by Ahmad (4/340) through the route of Muhammad b. ʿAmr, and by Ibn Khuzaymah (*) through ʿAli b. Yahya b. Khalad al-Zuraqi, from Rifaʿa. The chain is hasan, although a point of disagreement—mentioned at the beginning of this book (pp. 56–57)—remains. There is a corroborating report from Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them) in which the Prophet said to the Bedouin: “When you bow, place the palms of your hands on your knees, then spread your fingers, and stay until every limb has assumed its proper position.” Ibn Hibban included it in his Sahih through Talhah b. Musarrif; see al-Talkhis (3/367) and Nasb al-Rayah (1/373). Another supporting narration comes from Anas, marfuʿ, with the wording: “My son, when you bow, put your hands on your knees, spread your fingers, and lift your arms away from your sides…” (*) Ibn Khuzaymah (no. 597), as well as Abu Dawud and al-Bayhaqi (2/133–134), also transmitted it through Muʾammal b. Hisham al-Yashkuri: Ismaʿil b. ʿUlayyah—Muhammad b. Ishaq—who said: ʿAli b. Yahya b. Khalad b. Rafiʿ al-Ansari told me, from his father, from his uncle Rifaʿa. See Sahih Abi Dawud (nos. 805–806).

" الحديث. _________ (*) (٥٩٧) ، وكذا أبو داود، والبيهقي (٢/١٣٣ - ١٣٤) من طريق مؤمل بن هشام اليشكري: نا إسماعيل ابن علية عن محمد بن إسحاق: حدثني علي بن يحيى بن خلاد بن رافع الأنصاري عن أبيه عن عمه رفاعة به. وانظر " صحيح أبي داود " (٨٠٥ و ٨٠٦) .
