Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

And he says:
“Allah has not granted leave for anything as He has granted leave (1) (in another wording: ‘to the extent of His leave’) for a prophet [endowed with a beautiful voice—(in another narration: with a pleasant melody) (2)] to chant the Quran, [raising his voice with it].” (3)

Among those chains is a report from Aishah and another from Ibn al-Zubayr; al-Bazzar related both with weak isnads. Another route is through Abu Hurayra. It was recorded by al-Bukhari (13/429-430), al-Tahawi (2/129), and al-Khatib in his Tarikh (1/395). Yet some transmitters erred in the wording; in fact Abu Hurayra narrated it only with the formulation that will be cited below, as will be explained. (1) Al-Hafiz al-Mundhiri said: “ʿadhina—with a kasra on the dhal—means: Allah has not listened to anything from human speech as He listens to one who recites the Quran with melody, i.e. beautifies his voice. Sufyan ibn Uyaynah and others thought it derives from istighna (self-sufficiency), but that view is rejected.” (2) See al-Silsilah al-Daifa, no. 6640 [and Daif al-Targhib wa-l-Tarhib, 1/438]. (3) The hadith is from Abu Hurayra. Abu Salama ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman transmitted it from him, and five reliable narrators reported it from Abu Salama: al-Zuhri, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, Muhammad ibn ʿAmr, Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Taymi, and ʿAmr ibn Dinar. As for al-Zuhri’s version, it is found in al-Bukhari’s Sahih (9/56-57; 13/392), in al-Aʿmal al-ʿIbad (79), Muslim (2/192), al-Nasa’i (1/157), al-Darimi (2/472), Ibn Nasr (55), al-Tahawi, Mushkil (2/127), and Ibn Mundah in al-Tawhid.
