(7) Reported through Humayd from Anas with the first wording. Al-Bukhari records it in his monograph (al-Juz’), and it is also transmitted by al-Tahawi and al-Bayhaqi through several routes. (8) Reported via Abu Ishaq ibn Husayn, from Malik ibn Dinar, from Anas with the same wording; recorded by al-Bukhari. This Abu Ishaq is weak; his personal name is Khazim, with a z. (9) Reported by Sulayman ibn Ubayd Allah al-Raqqi who said: “Mukhlid ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Hassan, from Ibn Sirin and al-Hasan, from Anas with the same wording.” Al-Tahawi cites it, and its chain is capable of being upgraded to “acceptable.” (10) Reported through Ibn Lahi‘ah, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, that Muhammad ibn Nuh—the ally of Banu Sa‘d ibn Bakr—told him, from Anas with the same wording; also transmitted by al-Tahawi. I could not find anyone who mentioned this Muhammad ibn Nuh. (11) Reported via Thabit al-Bunani from Anas with the same wording. It was narrated by al-Sarraj, and by Ibn Khuzaymah with the second wording that includes recitation aloud. The hadith is further corroborated by a narration of Ibn Abd Allah ibn Mughafal—Yazid ibn Abd Allah—who said: “My father heard me reciting: Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim, and he said: ‘My son, beware!’ He (the narrator) added—and I never saw any of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ detest a newly introduced practice in Islam more than he did—‘For I have prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, with Abu Bakr, with ‘Umar, and with ‘Uthman…’”
