Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

…

It was recorded by Abu Dawud (1/122), Ibn Majah (1/269), al-Hakim (1/235), al-Bayhaqi (2/35), al-Tayalisi (128), Ahmad (4/85), al-Tabarani in al-Kabir, and Ibn Hazm in al-Muhalla (3/248) through several routes, all ultimately from Shuʿbah → ʿAmr b. Murrah → ʿAsim al-Anazi → Nafiʿ b. Jubayr b. Mutʿim → his father. The wording cited here is that of Ibn Majah, al-Hakim, Ahmad, and Ibn Hazm. Abu Dawud, al-Tayalisi, and al-Bayhaqi have the phrase billahi (by Allah) in place of bika (in You), and they move the word hamzihi so that it comes after wa nafthihi. All of them—except al-Hakim, al-Tayalisi, and Ibn Hazm—add the explanatory remark by ʿAmr: “His hamz is al-mawtah (paralysis), his nafkh is arrogance, and his nafth is poetry.” Abu Dawud, as well as al-Tabarani and—additionally—Abu Nuʿaym in Akhbar Asbahan (1/210), also transmitted it through Misʿar → ʿAmr b. Murrah → a man from ʿAnazah → Nafiʿ b. Jubayr, with the wording: “I heard the Prophet ﷺ say during a voluntary prayer…” and the rest resembles the foregoing. Al-Hakim declared it sahih, al-Dhahabi concurred, and Ibn Hibban likewise judged it sahih and included it in his Sahih. I say: The narrators are those relied upon by the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) except for this ʿAsim al-Anazi; no one pronounced him reliable save Ibn Hibban, and only two men—ʿAmr and Muhammad b. Abi Ismaʿil—reported from him. Al-Bukhari stated, “It is not sound.” In my view, as supporting evidence a report of this kind is acceptable, Allah willing. 3. As for the hadith of ʿAbd Allah b. Masʿud: it was transmitted by Ibn Majah (1/270), al-Hakim (1/207), al-Bayhaqi (2/36), Ahmad (1/404), and by Ahmad’s son ʿAbd Allah (through Muhammad b. Fudayl, Ahmad’s teacher in this chain), from ʿAtaʾ b. al-Saʾib → Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman al-Sulami → Ibn Masʿud, who said:
