Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

Then a flaw became evident to me: Yahya—namely, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir—relates the report with the ʿanʿana formula, and he is known for tadlis (concealing the intermediary). There are, however, other hadiths on this subject: • From Abu Hurayrah, marfuʿ: “The prayer is broken by a woman, a donkey, and a dog.” Muslim, Ibn Majah, al-Bayhaqi, and Ahmad (2/299, 425) transmit it through two routes from him. Muslim adds: “A safeguard against that is something like the rear part of a saddle.” • From Abdullah ibn Mughafal, likewise marfuʿ, with the same wording but without the additional clause. Ibn Majah, al-Tahawi, and Ahmad (5/57) relate it through several chains from Saʿid ibn Abi ʿArubah, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from him. The transmitters in this isnad are those found in the two Sahihs. • A similar report comes from Anas. Al-Khatib records it in his Tarikh (7/49), as does al-Bazzar. Al-Haythami (2/60) notes: “Its narrators are the men of the Sahih.” • Another version is from al-Hakam ibn ʿAmr al-Ghifari. Al-Tabarani transmits it in al-Kabir. All its narrators are trustworthy except ʿUmar ibn Rudayh; Abu Hatim considered him weak, whereas Ibn Maʿin and Ibn Hibban declared him reliable. I therefore deem the chain hasan (sound). • From ʿAishah with the wording:
