Asl Sifat Salat al-NabiNasir al-Din al-Albani

…

As for the additional phrase, it appears in Ahmad (5/164) through a different chain: Ali ibn Zayd ibn Jadʿan—who relates from Abdullah ibn al-Samit—adds, “I think he also said: ‘and a menstruating woman.’ ” Ibn Jadʿan, however, is weak. A corroborating narration exists from Ibn Abbas, raised to the Prophet: “What breaks the prayer is the black dog and the menstruating woman.” It is reported by Abu Dawud, al-Nasai, Ibn Majah, al-Tahawi, al-Bayhaqi, and Ahmad (1/347) through Shuʿbah, who narrates from Qatadah, from Jabir ibn Zayd, from Ibn Abbas. This chain is sound by the standards of al-Bukhari and Muslim, and al-Nawawi declared it sahih (3/250). Other transmitters narrated the same report from Qatadah as a Companion-level statement (mawquf) of Ibn Abbas; that does not undermine the marfuʿ version, for Shuʿbah is a reliable, precise memoriser. There is yet another route in Abu Dawud, al-Tahawi, and al-Bayhaqi, with multiple chains from Muʿadh ibn Hisham: his father Hisham relates from Yahya, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas—who said, “I think he attributed it to the Prophet”—that “the dog, the donkey, the menstruating woman, the Jew, the Christian, the Magian, and the pig break the prayer with a stone. If they remain at a stone’s-throw distance, they will not invalidate it.” This isnad is sound according to al-Bukhari’s criteria, though—as noted—its attribution to the Prophet is open to question.
