This is an abridgement of “The Evidences for the Prohibition of Shaving the Beard.” I have presented it in a form that is easy to handle and plain in expression. I have omitted the detailed discussions, lengthy hadith gradings, precise source references, and other digressions that do not suit the occasion, and I have recast it in an engaging style accessible to all readers.

I ask Allah to accept it graciously and to make it a source of abundant benefit in this life and on the Day when neither wealth nor children will avail, save he who comes to Allah with a sound heart. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
