Ismaʿil narrated to us; Malik narrated to me, from ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Abi Saʿsaʿah, from his father, who reported that Abu Saʿid al-Khudri—may Allah be pleased with him—said to him:

“I see that you love sheep and the open countryside. So whenever you are with your flock out in the wilderness and you give the adhan (call to prayer), raise your voice with the proclamation; for no jinn or human who hears the voice of the muʾadhdhin will fail to testify for him on the Day of Resurrection.”

Abu Saʿid—may Allah be pleased with him—then said, “I heard this from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.”

ʿAbd Allah ibn Yusuf also narrated to us, and Malik transmitted the same report.
