ʿAbd Allah ibn Ṣāliḥ and Yaḥyā ibn Bukayr both narrated to us: al-Layth narrated to us, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from Yaʿlā ibn Mamlaq, who said, “I asked Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, about the Prophet’s recitation and his prayer.” She replied, “Why do you ask about his prayer? He would pray, then sleep for a period equal to the time he had prayed; then he would pray for a period equal to the time he had slept; then he would sleep for a period equal to the time he had prayed, until dawn. She then described his recitation, and it was articulated letter by letter.” ⦗54⦘
Qutaybah also narrated to us; al-Layth narrated to me, from ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUbayd Allah ibn Abī Mulaykah, conveying this same report.
