Muslim ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us; Abān narrated to us; Yaḥyā narrated to us; from Abū Jaʿfar; from Abū Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: “The best deeds in Allah’s sight are: faith about which there is no doubt, a military campaign free from embezzlement, and a ḥajj mabrūr (an accepted pilgrimage).”
Mūsā narrated to us; Abān likewise—with the same wording.
Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us; Muʿādh ibn Hishām narrated to us; my father narrated to us; from Yaḥyā; Abū Jaʿfar narrated to me—he had heard Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him—who said, “I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: ‘The best of deeds in Allah’s sight is faith about which there is no doubt,’” and the remainder is the same.
