ʿAbd Allah ibn Yusuf narrated to us; Mālik narrated to me, from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nawfal, from ʿUrwah, from Zaynab bint Abī Salamah, from Umm Salamah—may Allah be pleased with her—who said: “I was performing ṭawāf while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying beside the House, reciting, ‘By the Mount, and by a Book inscribed’ (at-Ṭūr 52:2).”
Abu ʿAbd Allah said: The Prophet ﷺ has clarified the words of the praising servants, their supplication, their prayer, and their humble entreaty to Allah together with the response that the Ever-Living, the All-Sustaining, grants them, for the Messenger says, “Recite if you wish: the servant says, ‘All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds’ (al-Fātiḥa 1:2), and He replies, ‘My servant has praised Me.’”
