Chapter: Proofs relating to the voices of the servants

The Prophet ﷺ said, “The greatest number of hypocrites in my community are its Qur’an-reciters.” Thus he included among those reciters the Muʿaṭṭila—those who strip Allah of His attributes—the Jahmiyyah, the followers of their own whims, and others besides them.

The Prophet ﷺ also said, “Men will recite the Qur’an, yet they will shoot out of the religion; it will not go beyond their throats. They are the worst of people and of all creation.” He further said, “They rush through it and do not wait for its due reward.”
