Musa ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us; Wahib reported to us, from Maʿmar, from al-Zuhri, from Mahmud ibn al-Rabiʿ, from ʿUbadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “There is no prayer for anyone who does not recite the Opening Chapter of the Book and something beyond it.”
ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak and ʿAbd al-Razzaq likewise said, “Maʿmar narrated this very report to us.”
