Hajjaj ibn Minhal narrated to us; Ibn ʿUyaynah reported from al-Zuhri, from Mahmud ibn al-Rabiʿ, from ʿUbadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said, “There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the Opening Chapter of the Book.” ʿAbd Allah ibn Salih also narrated to us, and al-Layth transmitted the report with the same wording.
