Chapter: The words from the Book of Allah that the Prophet had engraved on his signet-ring, and what one may carry when relieving oneself.
Abu ʿAbd Allah said: “The remembrance of Allah—exalted be His mention—is found on signet-rings and on white silver dirhams.”
ʿAṭāʾ said: “If the ring bears the name of Allah, a person may enter the latrine or approach his family while wearing it; there is no harm in that.”
Al-Ḥasan said: “There is no objection to touching white silver dirhams without ritual ablution (wuḍūʾ), nor to moving the muṣḥaf from one place to another.”
It is also reported from Anas ibn Mālik—may Allah be pleased with him—that he would handle silver dirhams without having performed ablution.
