Hannād narrated to us; Abū al-Ahwāṣ narrated to us, from Simāk, from ʿIkrimah regarding the verse, “And most of them do not believe in Allah except while they are associating partners with Him” (Yūsuf 12:106). He said, “He asks them, ‘Who created you? Who created the heavens and the earth?’ They reply, ‘Allah.’ That is the extent of their belief, yet they worship others beside Him.”
