ʿUthmān narrated to us; Jarīr narrated to us, from Manṣūr, from Abū Wāʾil, from ʿAmr ibn Shurahbīl, from ʿAbd Allāh (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

“I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), ‘Which sin is the gravest?’ He replied, ‘That you set up a rival to Allah, while He is the One who created you.’”

Qutaybah narrated to us; Jarīr narrated to us the same report.
