Al-Humaydi narrated to us; Sufyān narrated to us; ʿAmr related, “I heard ʿIkrima say, ‘I heard Abū Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When Allah decrees a matter in heaven, the angels strike their wings in humble submission to His word, sounding like a chain dragged across smooth stone. Then, when the dread is lifted from their hearts, they say, ‘What has your Lord said?’ They reply, ‘The truth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.’”’” (Q 34:23)
