ʿAmr ibn ʿAlī narrated to us; ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Muqaddam narrated to us; Musa ibn al-Musayyab narrated, saying: I heard Sālim ibn Abī al-Jaʿd recount from al-Maʿrūr ibn Suwayd, from Abū Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet ﷺ, who related it from his Lord:

“O son of Adam, if you were to come to Me with almost the whole earth filled with sins, so long as you did not associate anything with Me, I would meet you with the like of it in forgiveness, and I would not mind.”

Muhammad ibn Abī Bakr also narrated to us—ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī transmitted the same—saying that the Prophet ﷺ reported this from his Lord, Mighty and Majestic.
