Mālik ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us; Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
Al-Ḥārith ibn Hishām asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, “How does revelation come down to you?”
He replied, “It comes like the ringing of a bell; then it departs from me at times, and I have already absorbed what it conveyed.”
