Khalq Afal al-Ibad lil-BukhariAl-Bukhari

ʿAmr ibn Zurārah narrated to us; Ziyād related to us, from Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq. He said: A freedman of Zayd ibn Thābit narrated to us, from ʿIkrimah—or Saʿīd ibn Jubayr—from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: “When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Medina”—and he proceeded with the remainder of the report—“Allah had already forbidden them in the Torah to shed one another’s blood. Yet they had split into two factions and were killing each other, even while the Torah was in their hands, fully aware of what it imposed upon them and what rights it granted them.”
