Fadl ibn Ya‘qūb narrated to us; ‘Abd Allāh ibn Ja‘far al-Raqqī narrated; Mu‘tamir ibn Sulaymān narrated; Sa‘īd ibn ‘Ubayd al-Thaqafī narrated; and Bakr ibn ‘Abd Allāh al-Muzanī together with Ziyād ibn Jubayr transmitted—through Jubayr ibn Ḥayyah—from al-Mughīrah ibn Shu‘bah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

Our Prophet ﷺ informed us, in the letter he dispatched: “Whoever among us is killed will enter Paradise and taste bliss the like of which he has never seen, and whoever among us survives will hold sway over your necks.” He added, “That statement was directed to the governor of Chosroes.”
