Hisham ibn ‘Ammar narrated to us; Sadaqah ibn Khalid narrated; Abu Hafs ‘Uthman ibn Abi al-‘Atikah narrated; Sulayman ibn Habib al-Muharibi told me:

“We stopped over in Hims, and it was said to us that Abu Umamah was living there. We went in to see him and found an exceedingly old, frail shaykh. He said, ‘This gathering is part of the message Allah is conveying to you.’ He then added, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has indeed delivered everything he was sent with, so you in turn must convey whatever you hear from us.’”
