ʿUmar ibn Ḥafṣ narrated to us—my father narrated to us—al-Aʿmash narrated to me from Shaqīq, who said: ʿAbd Allah saw a mushaf embellished with gold and remarked, “The finest adornment with which a mushaf can truly be beautified is its recitation.”
