ʿUbayd-Allah ibn Mūsa narrated this to us; al-Aʿmash transmitted it from Abū Wāʾil, who said: I was sitting with Abū Mūsā and ʿAbd-Allah (may Allah be pleased with them) when they both said, “The Prophet ﷺ declared, ‘In the period just before the Hour, ignorance will descend and knowledge will be taken away.’”
