ʿAlī narrated to us; Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us; al-Fuḍayl ibn Ghazwān narrated to us; ʿIkrimah—on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with them both)—who said:
“The Prophet ﷺ addressed the people on Yawm al-Naḥr (the Day of Sacrifice). Then he lifted his head toward the sky and declared three times, ‘O Allah, have I conveyed? O Allah, have I conveyed? O Allah, have I conveyed?’
Ibn ʿAbbās added, ‘By Him in whose hand my soul rests, this was a solemn charge to his community: let the one who is present convey it to the one who is absent.’”}
