This is further clarified by the report that ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbd Allāh related to me. He said: Ibn Abī Ḥāzim told us, from his father, from Abū Ṣāliḥ al-Sammān, from Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When Allah loves a servant, He calls Gabriel: ‘Love so-and-so.’ Gabriel then proclaims it to the bearers of the Throne, and the dwellers of the Throne begin to love him, whereupon the inhabitants of the seventh heaven hear the murmur of the Throne’s people.” —He mentioned the remainder of the narration— and he also recited: “So We have only made it easy in your tongue” (Maryam 19:97), and: “We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance” (al-Qamar 54:17). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) likewise said, “Everyone is facilitated toward that for which he was created.”
