Ahmad ibn Ishaq narrated to us; ‘Uthman ibn ‘Umar narrated to us; ‘Isa ibn Dinar narrated to us, from his father, from ‘Amr ibn al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, “Whoever wishes to recite the Quran fresh and untarnished, just as it was revealed, let him recite it in the manner of Ibn Umm ‘Abd (i.e., ‘Abd Allah ibn Mas‘ud).”
Maysarah, the freedman of Fadala, reported from Fadala ibn ‘Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah gives ear more readily to a man with a melodious voice who recites the Quran than the owner of a songstress does to his songstress.”
