Yahya ibn Yusuf narrated to me; ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿAmr told us, from Ishaq ibn Rashid, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman, from Abu Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—who related that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah has never listened to anything as approvingly as He listens to a prophet who chants the Qur’an with melody.”
Abu ʿAbd Allah added: The Prophet ﷺ once heard Abu Musa reciting and said, “Abu Musa has been granted a mizmar (flute-like sweetness) from the flutes of the family of David.”
