Preface to the Treatise

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise belongs to Allah. We praise Him for the perfection of His Most Beautiful Names and His Exalted, Complete Attributes; for His universal decrees that embrace every creature and existent thing; for His legislative rulings that cover all that He has prescribed; and for His judgment in requital—rewarding the beneficent and punishing the guilty.

I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner, unrivaled in His names, attributes, worship, and rulings. I also bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger—the one who elucidated judgment and legal rulings, clarified what is lawful and unlawful, established the fundamentals and their details, until this religion was perfected and set aright. O Allah, send Your blessings and peace upon Muhammad, upon his family, his Companions, and his followers—especially the eminent scholars.
